Introducing the International Seppala Siberian Sleddog Club

As the International Seppala Siberian Sled Dog Club, our whole purpose is built around one thing, keeping the true Seppala Siberian Sled Dog alive and thriving. Everything we do comes from a shared passion for the original working lines that came through Leonhard Seppala’s kennels, the dogs known for stamina, trail sense, steady temperaments and that unmistakable drive to work.

We see ourselves as guardians of a living history. These dogs are not just another type of Siberian Husky. They carry the heritage of the early racing days in Alaska, the Serum Run era, the Nome teams and the long distance hauling that shaped the breed. Our goal is to protect those qualities and make sure they continue to exist in the modern world.

Inside the club you will find mushers, breeders and owners from all over the world who share the same mindset. We talk openly about pedigrees, structure, training, working ability and the history that brought these dogs to where they are now. We encourage responsible breeding that puts working capability first and keeps the dogs true to their purpose. For us it has never been about trends or show standards. It has always been about the dogs and what they were born to do.

We take pride in supporting newcomers as well as long time Seppala breeders. Whether someone is running a competitive team in deep snow, training young dogs in the autumn, or simply learning about the lines for the first time, we are here to help. Our community exists so people can learn from each other, ask questions, and keep the Seppala identity clear and honest.

Most importantly we are here to celebrate these dogs. The determination, the loyalty, the work ethic and the history behind them. We honour the past while focusing on the future, making sure the next generations stay true to the qualities that made Seppala’s dogs legendary.

As a club, everything we do comes back to one simple belief. These dogs matter, their history matters, and their future deserves people who care enough to protect it.
